Greetings! We are very happy to have you participating in Session 2 of our 2025 CARMA Live Online Short Courses.  Please let us know if you have any problems accessing things you need from your Event Page, including the Discussion Board.  I will be working with the TAs in each course as we attempt to use it effectively to improve your experience.

Let me encourage you to think about what you want the most out of your short course experience, and make sure your instructor knows this.  They are eager to help you get the most out of your online efforts with CARMA.

Have a great time, enjoy learning from your instructor (remember their bio is on the Event Page), and let me know if I can do anything to help!

Hey, it’s day 3, and you are now over half-way through your 2025 CARMA Live Online Short Course! Rebecca and I hope you are having a great time. There is much to like about online courses- they can be delivered in a cost -effective manner, and the convenience of not having to be away from home is a big benefit for many.  However, I believe something important is lost virtually- the connections participants make with their instructors and each other.   This belief is based on CARMA having offered in-person short courses for nearly 20 years, in locations around the world.  I have seen these connections develop and know how important they can be.

I hope that our new Discussion Boards can help create the opportunities for relationship building and ongoing learning that can help you and our research methods community.   Before and after your zoom room and chat box are shut down.  Participation is optional, if you join and contribute our hope is that you and others will get more out of your CARMA experience.   The Discussion Boards will remain open after your course is done to allow your learning to continue.   We want more than to have you in a Short Course- we want you to be a part of our learning community that supports your research methods education needs.
